Alexandra and Eva will make a "decoction" of the basement and create sculptures as a result of the journeys of discovery they have made since the start of the artist collective. Colors in the wind
Ongoing project, variable dimensions
This project involves multiple bedsheets and other fabric materials painted in vivid colors and hung in the trees around Rotvoll for the Kunstfest 2023. Some of the sheets were painted years ago and some will be made especially for this occasion. Most of them will be in the
colors red, green and blue inspired by the RGB color system used by screens, projectors etc., and a few will be monochrome. The installation might be nothing less than a eureka moment for me, an opening to a new way of working, much more in sync with my surroundings, the trees, the wind and with myself.

I kraft av landskapet/Landscape and Power
På Kunstfest 2023 vil jeg vise noen av prosjektene jeg for tiden jobber med. Jeg har åpent atelier og vil vise prosessen fram mot tre utstillinger i 2023-2025. Jeg jobber fremdeles med begrepet TID. Jeg fordyper meg i språk og ord som beskriver tid.
Tid er kanskje det største mysteriet. Hva er tid og hva er det ikke? Jeg vil vise forskjellige innfallsvinkler til det abstrakte tidsbegrepet i mine malerier; både med motiv, form, farger og ord. Landskapet i forskjellige former er ofte en del av mine bilder. I kraft av landskapet vil jeg vise til noe som kan gi tanker om fenomenet tid, heller enn landskapet som sted.
Bilder, malerier og videoinstallasjonen Water Portrait vil bli vist rundt om i Rotvoll Kunstnerkollektiv.

The installation is a protective circle created from Artemisia Vulgaris (Common Mugwort) and other herbs that have been picked along the Ladestien path, nearby Rotvoll.
Since medieval times Artemisia has been used as magical protective herb throughout the Europe. The process of gathering Artemisia is a process of reawakening the memories and wisdom of ancestors and reconnecting with Earth.

Monika Raźny is artist and yoga teacher. Born in Kraków, Poland. In 2020 she graduated from Fine Arts Academy in Kraków with MA title. She lives and works in Trondheim, Norway. In her artistic practice she works with landart, meditative practices, painting, photography, video, text and installation.
In her recent practice and research Raźny investigates various ways of thinking of the Earth and practices of being with the Earth, in search for an alternative to western narratives. Having ecological crisis in mind she researches the strategies that could be healing for the relation between humans and Earth. By exploring possible scenarios of being with the Earth, she looks into how we can bring compassion and insight into the climate crisis. She looks into the indigenous and folk knowledge and storytelling, meditation techniques, yoga practices, herbalism, science and more. She practices observation, listening, silence, walking, mediation and landart.

To the Bread Gods, 2023
To the Bread Gods is an offering installation and a holy space to worship the bread gods. It consists of bread dough sculptures, sourdough starter microorganisms, barley stalks, wheat flour, cinder blocks and glass pots.
The work is part of an ongoing research on bread rituals, its history and contemplation of our current and former relationship with bread.

Mateusz Pitala is an artist, designer and baker based in Trondheim, Norway. In 2020 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Through his practice Pitala explores bread history, its potential and forgotten grains. He works with bread dough and sourdough living bacteria, as well as sculpture, design, video, text and drawing.
During the festival he will display one of his offering installations to worship the bread gods.

Aske Zidore
Hagefølge, 2023
In the installation ‘Hagefølge’ (‘Garden companion’) by Aske Zidore, a robotic lawnmower gracefully roams across the green expanse of a lawn. As it moves, a chanting voice resonates from it, performed by priest of Nidaros Cathedral, Andreas Hilmo Grandy-Teig, reciting newly written poems by Zidore. This evocative synergy creates a poignant commentary on the isolated and lonely existence these machines endure as they silently reduce the lawn maintenance work of homeowners. By giving it a voice, viewers are confronted with the poetry of the perpetual journey that pervades the mechanical routine of these autonomous garden companions, meanwhile invites contemplation of the deeper human connections that can be lost in our daily lives.

Ingunn Ystad
Ingunn S. Ystad (f. 1984, Steinkjer) utforsker maleriet og problemstillinger knyttet til maleriet. Ikke maleriet som et medium for representasjon, men dets egenart: Hva gjør et maleri? Hva består det av?Arbeidene til Ingunn kan beskrives som ekspressive, nonfigurative eller abstrakte. Utrykksfylle former, utallige ulike fargenyanser, som gjentar seg, og til sammen blir en finstemt komposisjon.Gamle arbeider kan bli brukt om igjen,enten at komposisjoner males over eller jobbes videre med, eller at lerretet klippes opp eller brettes, og settes sammen på nytt. Ofte kan lerretet like gjerne være en collage, et draperi eller en skulptur. Ystad fremhever maleriets egenskaper som sensuelt medium og dyrker dets teksturer og undersøker grensene for hva et maleri kan være.
Ingunn S. Ystad er utdannet fra Kunstakademiet i Trondheim (2012), og har tidligere hatt utstilling ved Heimdal Kunstforening (2014),Bodø Kunstforening (2017), Studio Blikket (2018) og Kimen Kulturhus (2021). Hun har også vært stilt ut ved Nils Aas Kunstnerverksteder (2012), Trondhjems kunstforening (2015) og hatt prosjekt under Kulturnatt ved Trøndelag Senter for Samtidskunst (2015). Ystad har deltatt på Trøndelagsutstillingen ved flere anledninger og har blitt kjøpt inn til samlingen til Kunstmuseet i Nord-Trøndelag (2020). Hun er blitt tildelt Jacob Weidemann Minnestipend for 2022.

Skoleklasser fra Averøy ungdomsskole på Nordmøre deltok i ryddeaksjoner langs lokale strender ogsamlet et halvt tonn plastavfall. Eirik brukte materialet til å bygge Plastkrabben. Skulpturen bleutstilt fra 2020-22 ved turistattraksjonen Svevestien på Atlanterhavsveien.
Eiriks kunstneriske virke tematiserer forsøpling og havhelse. Han har gjort prosjekter i en rekkekystsamfunn i Norge og Spania.
Eirik tok master i metallkunst på Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo i 2014. I tillegg er han skribent og holder kursi kreativ skriving for kunstnere, designere og arkitekter. Tidligere jobbet han somdokumentarregissør og nyhetsreporter i NRK..
Natalie Field
Birdcage
Natalie Field (b.1982) is an interdisciplinary artist from South Africa. Recently graduated from the Kunstakademiet i Trondheim with a Master's in Fine Art and now a member at RKK, Field will be introducing us to her artistic endeavours through one of her animalARTefacts: Birdcage. Working within the field of Speculative Taxidermy, her practice involves observing, collecting, arranging, and collating an assortment of natural materials to communicate transformative narratives encompassing themes of life, death, rebirth, evolution, and extinction.
Field's studio will be open to visitors between 4 and 5pm.
