Emilie Storaas (b. 1991) is a vocalist, musician, and songwriter from Trondheim, and a graduate of the jazz program at NTNU. She explores her voice and lyrics through a melancholic and hopeful emotional landscape, with her own distinctive and heartfelt way of expression. Emilie is a storyteller, and this is clearly reflected in her writing of vulnerability, hope, and the idea of being good enough, whether within landscapes of visejazz, sci-fi pop, indie, electronica, or alternative (non-commercial) pop.
She has been part of the duo Kjemilie together with pianist Kjetil Mulelid, developing their own distinctive trøndersk visejazz, with two releases on Øra Fonogram and touring in Norway and Europe. She has also been active in the experimental band Svankropp, which released two albums on the indie label Riot Factory.
As a solo artist, she has established herself within the alternative pop scene with the release Slow Girl in 2019, followed by Past Life in 2024. Emilie is a versatile singer and enjoys collaborating with others. Among other things, she has worked with the electronic project Oak Ay and sings in the gospel choir Gospel Explosion. In 2026, she is writing songs for a new solo album.
