Eva Holm Foosnæs grew up in Steinkjer, Trøndelag, and since 2009 has undertaken numerous engagements as a conductor, répétiteur, accompanist, and pianist. Since 2018, she has also worked full-time as a freelance composer. She is currently based in Trondheim. 

Her compositional work primarily focuses on vocal music, music theatre, and opera, but also includes larger instrumental orchestral works. Foosnæs has formal training as a composer from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia, and the Robert Schumann Hochschule für Musik. She has written commissioned works for the Oslo Philharmonic, Trondheim Sinfonietta, Alpaca Ensemble, Trondheim Vocal Ensemble, Opera Østfold, Kilden Vocal Ensemble, and others. Among the grants and awards she has received are RWE Dea / The Research Council of Norway, Nord-Trøndelag Art Grant, Trøndelag County Municipality, TONO, as well as the ASAWCA Allmänna Sången & Anders Wall International Composition Award 2019 and the Ortus 4th New Music Competition 2020 in Manhattan, New York.
