Håkon Magnar Skogstad (b. 1989) is an award-winning Norwegian pianist and composer with a background in classical piano from Trondheim, Oslo, and New York. He completed his artistic doctorate in Romantic and Impressionist piano performance traditions in 2022. Skogstad has performed extensively across Norway, as well as in the USA, Argentina, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Sweden. He has released six albums both as a solo artist and with internationally acclaimed ensembles. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Paul Okkenhaug Prize and the Spellemann Award in the classical category in 2021. As a composer, Skogstad has arranged and written over 70 works, including several major commissioned pieces for the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian Armed Forces Band. He is currently a recipient of the Norwegian Government’s Work Grant for Artists.
